Nordic Walking festival from 27th to 30th April 2017

In Calella by the Coast of Barcelona

The Natural Parc of Montnegre , with its gentle landscape, pleasant weather and great scenic contrasts, where the green and the blue blend, in the middle of nature,  with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea, is the perfect location to organize the Nordic Walking Festival in the Barcelona Coast from 27th to 30th April 2017.

A great combination of good walks, great instructors, friendly atmosphere and also an excursion to discover Barcelona.  Participants will be accommodate in a very comfortable hotel, GFH Hotel Kaktus Playa*** Sup  in Calella.

The breakfast buffet in the GFH Hotel Kaktus Playa is delicious. We can find not only fresh fruits, cornflakes, pastries, cheese, breads, juices, coffees, teas but also, we serve warm meals such as scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon and sausages.

Even the Nordic Walking was originally practiced for skiers during summer trainings; it has been developed into a fitness exercise suitable for everyone and all levels.

During the Nordic Walking Festival in the Barcelona Coast from 27th to 30th April 2017, we will have the opportunity to discover Calella , its surroundings, its beach, lighthouse and the wonderful Nature Park.

Bosc MontnegreGrup NordicThe Nordic Walking is a simple sport. We need to keep in mind that the Nordic Walking is a natural movement and there is no need to think while we are doing it. By normal walking we will notice a natural swing in our arms. We will emphasize this movement, and if we accentuate the swing as far as we can, then we will find the right motion for Nordic Walking.

By walking, poles should touch the ground just between both feet for propulsion. The poles, when operated by co-ordinated people, swing in opposition to their stride, with the idea of rotating desk-seized shoulders and straightening a compressed spine.  By pushing off the poles, always remember that in front the hand is closed and behind you hand is open. This helps to work out the heart. Using poles means that you are working your upper body as well, so you engage more muscles, you consume more energy, therefore burn more calories compared with regular walking. The use of poles is also a safety factor as they give more stability.

By practicing Nordic walking we use 90% of our body’s skeletal muscles, more than running and swimming, and we burn up 46% more calories than normal walking, at up to 450 calories an hour.  Also the Nordic walking has a positive effect on our state of mind as it has been proved for Outdoor exercises.

Join us in the Nordic Walking Festival in the Barcelona Coast from 27th to 30th April 2017. Keep your Nordic fitness and enjoy some days nearby the sea. For more info  https://goo.gl/idzTqr
